Ian & Francie Thompson love leading The Hub Church. They have been married for over 21 years. Ian is from the UK, Francie is a Kiwi and each of their 3 children, a son and 2 daughters, was born in a different country (Wales, Scotland and New Zealand). They say, “We are passionate about God’s Church, and believe that God wants to do good through His people. However, to achieve this, the Church must at times be courageous enough to break old patterns” As Francie has often said: “we have to let go of the good in order to lay hold of the great.” Church leadership to Ian and Francie isn’t about preaching sermons or being a counselor; it is about equipping people to do the work of God out in the real world. Sometimes that may include a sermon or some counseling, but those are only tools to help get the job done, not an end in themselves. Ian says, “We know we are succeeding in our role when we hear stories of our people praying with their un-churched friends, showing hospitality, or being a positive influence in the life of our community.” Currently working with Ian and Francie in a support role are Richard & Faye Bain. The two couples have known each other for several years and have built up a strong relationship based on friendship, trust and integrity. We believe working in team is the biblical principle for a balanced approach and accountability. The Hub Church is part of the LinkNZ family of churches, with a strong belief in the role of apostolic teams. Fraser Hardy and others from his team are working alongside Ian & Francie in an apostolic role. Click here to find out more about the LinkNZ family of churches. | ||||||
